Case Study: Breast Augmentation Before and After Photos
The implant was filled with saline which has given her a dramatic enlargement. Most patients find that implants look better in bras. This photo raises the issue on why we use sports bras and compression garment. With any surgery blood vessels tend to ooze and there may be bruising or swelling. Compression closes blood vessels and reduces swelling, bruising and subsequent pain. By using a compression garment the recovering will be quicker and less risks. Most surgeons, cosmetic surgeons and cosmetic dermatologist would recommend a firm compression garment after most procedures, particularly Liposuction, breast implants and face lift surgery. The other advantage of a compression garment is that it helps the skin to contract and tighten. After Liposuction this is extremely important.
Liposuction makes many of thousands canals through the fat and the goal for the surgeon is to get these canals to close up. The best results with cosmetic surgery will occur if these canals can contact and tighten. Most contraction happens in the first few days and that’s when the garments are particularly important. In Dr Lanzer’s rooms he has a nutritionist dietitian who actually measures up patients as the garments are tailor made.
There are many different quality and types of garments, some being lycra and nylon this probably does not make a huge difference in the cosmetic end result but more related to comfort. Some garments are also made so that they are easier to go to the bathrooms with. Dr Lanzer also recommends a type of compression garment which contains foam. This is used before Liposuction of the stomach. He finds it of great value for Mega Liposuction and high definition Liposuclpturing. The foam works in reducing swelling and bruising and also reduces the risk of fluid collecting. This is called a seroma.
The other final advantage of a compression garment is that it does support the implant and therefor the patients feel more secure and there is less chance of extra pressure happening through the wound during the early healing phases. There are many other types of compression garments and a quick internet search would help patients get an insight into this. Dr Lanzer usually recommends a shop where patients can by sports bras because this needs to be quite comfortable post surgery.
Breast augmentation is a viable treatment option for patients who want to increase their cup size. As seen in the case study above, a breast augmentation can increase the size of the breasts dramatically and give the patient a more feminine appearance overall. Still, before you can obtain this procedure, you must be evaluated by a cosmetic surgeon. The patient must also have realistic expectations about the procedure, an aspect that will be evaluated during your initial consultation with the cosmetic surgeon.
Our before and after photographs give patients more insight into the possibilities of breast augmentation. These photographs also show that results can vary considerably from patient to patient, so results obtained from a breast augmentation are unique for each patient. To ensure your expectations match the results you could obtain from the procedure, the cosmetic surgeon can show you how a breast augmentation can affect the appearance of the breasts through use of special computer software. When you view this example, please consider that this is still an estimate of how your breasts will look like after the procedure. If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding the results you could obtain from breast augmentation, be sure to speak to your cosmetic surgeon for more information.
