Cellulaze – Cellulite Removal
Cellulaze – Cellulite Removal
Cellulite is a very common condition that effects women especially on the thighs. There are many non surgical methods that have been tried to help this problem yet most are unsuccessful. Liposculpture can occasionally assist but is not primarily for cellulite. This is where Cellulaze should be considered.
It appears as either dimpling of the skin or bulges and dents.
Cellulaze uses wave lengths to target CELLULITE. It is the first surgical method of treating cellulite, and Dr Lanzer is proud to be the first in Victoria to offer this procedure. It melts the fat and then breaks the fibrous bands from inside. It also has energy that tightens the skin. The preliminary studies have been outstanding and has shown a high success rate.
Studies have shown an overall 85% satisfaction rate and 72% maintenance after 5 years.
How does the Cellulaze work?
It is performed under local anaesthetic. After being numbed, using the Tumescent fluid, the laser is inserted to the problem area through a tiny incision.
1) The laser then heats up to melt the fat that is causing the cellulite.
2) The septa bands that pull on the dermal tissue which causes the dimples are cut with the laser.
3) Energy is delivered to thicken the skin and produce collagen which increases the elasticity of the skin.
The laser is unique in that it has a split beam. One aiming forward and the other to the side. This is what allows precise cutting and targeting.
How does this differ from other non surgical treatments?
Non Surgical treatments target the cellulite removal problem externally without very effective result. This is the first treatment that surgically targets the biological problem of cellulite directly underneath the skin. The Cellulaze directly touches the tissue we want to treat. The laser is a strong beam that has three actions.
1) The laser heats the fat in a controlled way that actually melts the tissue- This is used to treat the bulges
2) The laser cuts the fibrous bands that are pulling the skin inwards. This is done by angling the beam across the fibrous tissue
3) The laser is pointed to the under surface of the skin which then retracts
How long is the recovery time?
Cellulaze has an anticipated down time of 1-2 days. There may be some bruising and swelling for about a week following treatment. Swelling and bruising can be severe since the treatment is right under the skin.

Generally patients have one treatment however sometimes a few treatments can be performed
How long do the cellulite removal results last for?

Who is an ideal candidate?
Cellulaze probably works best on a patient who is not overweight but rather has problem cellulite areas such as the outer thighs, back of thighs, hips or buttocks. Other areas can be treated as well. It is a patented procedure with the main site here.
How safe is Cellulaze?
Cellulaze is a minimally invasive laser procedure that was approved by the FDA in 2012 As with all surgical procedures there are risks such as scarring, infections and swelling. As Cellulite removal is such a difficult procedure and condition to treat Dr Lanzer can give no undertakings or guarantee of results until it is used longer.

Results are dependent on how severe the cellulite is. Mild forms respond better than deep severe cellulite.
Cellulite is a condition many women struggle with, so many change their diet and exercise routine to tackle the problem. However, cellulite can be persistent, in which cases Cellulaze could provide an additional treatment option. If the patient has attempted to rid themselves of their cellulite through a healthy diet and a lot of exercise, and has taken good care of her skin, the Cellulaze treatment may do what lifestyle changes have not been able to for you yet.
The Cellulaze treatment has numerous benefits and could include reduced risks of scarring, infection and swelling. However, patients should consider that every cosmetic procedure, whether it is surgical or non-surgical in nature, is accompanied by certain risks. Before having any procedure at the Dr Lanzer Clinic, it is advised to ask your surgeon about the risks of the treatment, so you are fully informed before the procedure takes place. Also, inform about the result of the treatment, since the results of Cellulaze can vary on the degree of the cellulite.
