One of the most popular cosmetic treatments around the world is Microdermabrasion. In our rooms our highly skilled and trained medical beauty therapists perform this procedure. It is done in all of our cosmetic centres including Malvern, Glen Waverley, Geelong, Ballarat, and Point Cook.
Microdermabrasion helps to rejuvenate and revitalise the skin. Our skin can become clogged and at times can look dull. We can have scarring, blackheads or sometimes just need a deep clean. Microdermabrasion is an excellent treatment to suit many needs. It uses a diamond tip head to slough off dead skin cells and clean out pores, leaving the skin smooth and fresh whilst promoting new skin and collagen.
Medical Microdermabrasion has been derived from the numerous experiences of international skincare experts and further adapted by medical physicians in Europe to meet today’s skin and body care needs.

Microdermabrasion can be performed the day before a special occasion. Your skin will feel smooth, refreshed and your makeup will go on a lot nicer.
Is it relaxing?
Many people find the treatment quite relaxing, especially during the hydrating mask application.

The treatment takes 45min to 1hr. This includes cleansing of the skin, microdermabrasion, a mask and moisturise.

Can I have a different mask on my skin?
We have different masks for different skin types. During the microdermabrasion, our highly trained beauty therapist will apply one either to hydrate the skin or one to absorb oil and kill bacteria in blemishes. We also have an anti ageing enzyme mask that can be applied at an extra cost.
Are Extractions performed?
Blackheads can be extracted from the face during treatment however milia and cysts will need to be removed by the doctor.
Microdermabrasion is a controlled polishing exfoliation that is safe and beneficial to the skin. A hydrating mask is applied after the treatment to help hydrate and nourish the skin.
Microdermabrasion can be combined with many other skin treatments. This includes our revlite and aura rejuvenation lasers. (LINK TO AURA AND REVLITE LASER), Glycolic acid peels (LINK TO GLYCOLIC ACID PEEL) and also our DMK enzyme masks (LINK TO DMK ENZYME FACIAL). This helps to create maximum rejuvenation with little to no down time. Microdermabrasion Treatments are generally performed at 4-6 week intervals and ideally patients have 6 treatments. The Microdermabrasion treatments at Dr Lanzers are slightly deeper and more effective than routine Microdermabrasions. Dr Lanzer often recommends the isolaz laser in conjunction with the microdermabrasion. This works by clearing the pores. (LINK ISOLAZ)
