Face Lift Before And After Photos (16)

Other case studies

At the Dr Lanzer Clinic, we regularly provide prospective patients with before and after photographs of patients who had a treatment at the Dr Lanzer Clinic, which in this case is a male patient who had a facelift.

Even though cosmetic surgery treatments are commonly associated with women, male patients are far from uncommon. Below, you will find more information about our before and after photographs, but also some information on why there are currently a lot of male patients obtaining cosmetic surgery.

How Should I Interpret These Before and After Photographs?

When viewing before and after photographs, it is always important to consider that these photographs are examples. Every patient is unique, so the results obtained from procedures will be unique too; this applies to female patients as well as male patients.

Is it True More Men Are Obtaining Cosmetic Surgery?

Many men are seeking cosmetic surgery. In my early days of performing cosmetic surgery, men counted for only 1 or 2% of cases. I’ve seen the percentage of men change now to probably 40%.

Men commonly visit my clinic for mini face lifts, laser blepharoplasty, liposculpture to the neck, and laser of wrinkles. The most common procedure I have performed in men is reduction of men boobs and high definition liposculpture.

I believe that the stigma has gone out of cosmetic surgery, particularly with the less invasive procedures that are aimed at not necessarily making a person look different, but rather looking healthier, younger, and slimmer; for example, making the patient look like they did in their prime.

Men are also exposing their bodies more than say 20 years ago, and this means that they find it hard to cover up areas that are of concern. Men dislike men boobs because it looks feminine and often their friends and mates cause them anxiety over it.

Many years ago, a patient of mine and myself were featured on “A Current Affair” discussing this issue. The gentleman worked in the marketplace. His friends were ridiculing his breasts and one could certainly understand why he and other men do seek a breast reduction.

Interestingly, men are often fairly determined in having surgery and don’t necessarily go back to discuss it with their partners, whilst women tend to discuss it more over with their partners. Men sometimes do have surgery together with their partners, and sometimes there is a lot of close bonding because of it.

A lot of women do have cosmetic surgery and men as well, once they have separated from their partners and people are looking for a new lease of life or some sort of new self-confidence as they change their lifestyle, often in middle age. These are just of the common reasons why men and women seek cosmetic surgery.
