Can A Facelift Provide Natural Results? Find Out With Our Face Lifting Before And After Case Studies!
Dr Daniel Lanzer has been performing the suture lift procedure for many years and has recently extended his practice to offer the mini facelift. He has found that some patients may not be quite ready for a full-face lift; however, they would not gain enough of a result just from a suture lift.
How Does A Mini Facelift Differ From Other Facelift Methods?
The mini facelift is an in-between alternative, which does not have as much downtime as a full facelift but will give more dramatic results than a suture lift.
Dr Lanzer first marks the site where the incision will be made, then numbs it with local anaesthetic. He then makes the incision with a scalpel, which begins in the patients sideburns, extends along the edge of the tragus and loops around the ear lobe to the back of the ear. He then infiltrates special tumescent fluid, which makes the area go nice and numb and subsequently reduces any bleeding. This solution is used in many other procedures too; this may include breast augmentation and liposuction.
Once the tumescent fluid has infiltrated, he then places some deep sutures under the skin, which act as a support for the underlying tissue to be lifted into place. He then pulls the skin taught and removes any excess before suturing it into its new position. A compression dressing is then applied. The sutures are then removed 7-10 days post-procedure. There will be a visible scar which will fade over time. his is all done as a day procedure in our accredited day surgery facility.
Are The Results From A Mini Facelift Long-Term?
The results are more long-term than a suture lift, however not as more long term as a deeper full facelift. Dr Lanzer would assess your suitability upon your free consultation to see which procedure is ideal for you. The mini facelift can be combined with a fat transfer procedure whereby the fat is taken from the patient and reinjected into the face to create more volume and reduce wrinkles. To see examples of such a procedure combination, please refer to our face lifting before and after case studies.
Does A Facelift Provide A Natural Result?
One of the most common requests today in cosmetic medicine and cosmetic surgery is to have a natural appearance. Dr Lanzer and his associates have always understood natural to mean that the patient still wants to look the same but wants to look refreshed rejuvenated and similar how they used to look in their younger years. This request is appropriate for patients of all ages, male and female. Examples of how this principle is applied to facelift surgery can be found in our face lifting before and after case studies.
There are a number of ways to enhance an appearance yet to keep a natural appearance, as can be seen in our face lifting before and after studies. The first is that when we perform laser blepharoplasty, we do not do a brow lift, rather we remove the skin from the upper eyelids and the fat bags and wrinkles from the lower eyelid. This is a good idea, as it restores the refreshed attractive nature of one’s eyes without producing a startled appearance, which is clearly visible in our face lifting before and after studies.
With drooping of the skin, a mini face lift or a suture lift, accomplishes the results of having the skin similar to how one would look if they push the skin towards their ear. There is no deep plane change and therefore there would be no “pulled-looking” result.
Dr Lanzer and his associates find that a way to develop a natural result on the face and neck is to have a sharp jaw neckline. This is accomplished with a combination of liposculpture and/or neck mini lift.
With aging, the skin can look blotchy and withered. Laser treatments, whether fractionated or laser resurfacing, can produce a natural smooth result in a consistent manner.
The same applies for procedures that are executed on the body. With regards to the body, one must assess a patient’s height, position of the fat and overall shape when performing either liposculpture or breast reduction or breast enhancement. Ideally, the removal of fat or the placement of the implant should complement the person’s body shape to produce a natural and attractive silhouette.
A facelift can have a dramatic impact on the appearance of a patient’s face, as seen in the face lifting before and after case studies. In the case study above, the facelift was also combined with other procedures including a blepharoplasty and neck liposuction, which provided the patient with a more defined neckline and overall younger appearance. The Dr Lanzer Clinic is focussed on providing the patient with the results they wish to obtain, providing the expectations a patient has are realistic. If you believe a similar treatment as displayed in the case study could benefit you, then book a consult at The Dr Lanzer Clinic to discuss your options.
Despite advances in the cosmetic surgery world, there are always risks connected to surgery. Therefore, Dr Lanzer will provide each patient with a consent form via email. This consent form contains more information about the risks of your procedure, but also vital information about the facelift treatment, so it is extremely important to read through this information carefully. If you have any questions about the information on the facelift consent form, you can contact the Dr Lanzer Clinic to receive more info. Dr Lanzer and his associates will be more than happy to answer any questions, so you decide whether or not to sign the form and have the procedure.
Our before and after photographs of facelift procedures can illustrate some dramatic changes on the face and neck. In some cases, patients are displayed who have obtained a combination of different procedures; this may include the mini facelift, eyelid lift, brow lift, chin implant, neck lift, excess skin removal, lip augmentation, laser resurfacing, eyelid surgery, the fat transfer, or other facial rejuvenation treatments featured in our facelift before and after photographs section. To ensure you get an accurate overview of the facelift as a sole treatment, always read the information provided with each of our facelift before and after photographs and speak to your chosen cosmetic surgery.
