The face and neck lift are procedures that are executed quite often at a cosmetic surgery clinic. Both men and women are looking for a more rejuvenated appearance, leading them to these types of treatments.

Even though there are various treatments that can be obtained to achieve a more youthful appearance, for this article we will focus on the face and neck lift specifically.

Prospective patients are also provided with some before and after photographs of patients who had a face and neck lift at the Dr Lanzer Clinic. By combining the information and the photographs, patients can get better insight into the treatment before their initial consultation.

When Are Results Visible After a Face and Neck Lift?

The results will be obvious immediately. There is usually not a lot of swelling on the front of the face. If patients have their hair down in front of their ears, they may in fact even be able to get out quite soon after the procedure.

The final result is always a tighter, more refreshed appearance. On average, Dr Lanzer feels that most patients he operates on, who are in their 50’s to 70’s, end up looking between 15-20 years younger. Dr Lanzer has performed this procedure on patients in their 20’s and up to their 80’s, so there is a wide variety of patients having mini face and neck lifting.

How Long Does It Take to Heal After a Face and Neck Lift?

The majority of patients do require 2 weeks recovery because that is how long it takes for the sutures to dissolve around the ears. Some patients take 1 week off or even up to 3 weeks. Of course, some patients may take a little longer to heal, since everyone is unique and heals in his or her own time.

Are There Non-Surgical Options for a Facelift or Neck Lift?

There are a number of non-surgical options for face lifting. These include the Ulthera, which was approved in America under the FDA for face lifting. It is a device that causes tightening and contraction of the underlying muscle and tissue.

The problem with non-surgical options is that the results vary between patients.  Face lifting can also be performed just with a simple skin suture and Dr Lanzer has been performing that for over 15 years.

Liposculpture alone can cause tightening and lifting and sometimes that is all that is required, particularly on the neck and jowls. Stem cells are used with fat to cause a stem cell facelift; this involves taking fat from another area of the body and injecting it into the cheeks and smaller amounts over most of the face. It causes a filling and tightening of the skin. Fat may last forever or may in fact disappear.

Will People Know That I Had This Done?

The majority of times people will not be able to detect that a patient has had a mini face and neck lift.

What Are the Special Considerations Involved with Face and Neck Lifts?

Often patients do have differences between the 2 sides of the face and this will be pointed out before surgery usually.
