What Happens During Procedure Day
During my 3 year employment with Doctor Lanzer I have seen some amazing results. Most of our patients come in wanting natural results. They don’t want to look over done or have a startled look. Dr lanzer works with the patient to achieve the best possible result. For example – with facelifts you want nice defined jawline without looking like your face is pulled back. Dr Lanzer has perfected the facelift giving a natural look. He likes to do liposuction to the neck to help bring the chin and neck line in.
Consultations with Dr Lanzer take approximately 30-45 minutes. During this time you have a one on one with Dr Lanzer himself, you will have a one on one with a nurse and you will also speak to brad whom is Dr Lanzers assistant. Dr Lanzer will run through what it is you’re interested in, what he can do for you and possible outcome. The nurse will thoroughly explain the procedure from start to finish and Brad will be able to discuss quotes and availability/dates etc.
If you decide to book you will receive your paper work. You will need to pick up your scripts, get your blood test done and arrange the consultation with the psychologist (Rebecca our psychologist is a good checklist to make sure you understand the procedure and the likely outcome).
The day before the procedure you will start a course of antibiotics just as a precaution and you will also use an antibacterial body wash in the shower the night before or the morning of your procedure, depending on when you usually shower.
On the day you may be required to fast 6 hours before your procedure if you are having a general anaesthetic and if you are having a local anaesthetic we recommend you eat before you come in to the clinic. You will be admitted and taken through to have a consultation with Dr Lanzer. If you are having a general anaesthetic you will also have a consultation with the anaesthetist. The doctor will then perform your surgery.
Once your procedure is finished a nurse will do your dressings. You will be in recovery for as long as you require depending on which procedure you had. You will be offered a drink and your vital signs will be monitored until you leave the clinic. None of our procedure require you to stay overnight but we can recommend a facility close to the clinic which you can stay at as they have a nurse on call 24 hours a day.
You will be required to come back to the clinic the day after your procedure for a check-up and to have your dressing removed or changed depending on procedure. Dr Lanzer likes to see his patients quite regularly post op, sometimes this is just for a few minutes but he just likes to check on everyone. There are no charge for after care appointments.
