Ulthera is an ultrasound device that directs ultrasound energy waves deep into the dermis, reaching the muscle layer, in order to produce a contraction of the tissue, with the outcome being a lifting of the facial tissue. The Ulthera is the first device in America to receive FDA approval as a non-surgical form of face lift.
What devices can cause a facelift?
Most non-surgical devices cause skin tightening which do produce an element of lifting of the skin. This is of course seen most dramatically when a patient has an erbium laser resurfacing which causes all the skin to tighten quite significantly. However, Ulthera is probably the only device that gets really deep into the underlying tissues and can cause a full on lift.
Which area respond to the ulthera?
The lower cheeks are probably the most effective area to treat and which can lead to the area around the jowls and jaw line to become more contracted and tighter. Other areas that are commonly treated are the forehead which can induce a brow lift or the neck.
ARE THERE ANY TIMES THAT WE WILL NOT PERFORM AN ULTHERA?
Ulthera does not work when there is a facial filler in the dermis. It is therefore important to first do the Ulthera before considering any facial fillers.
Who does the ulthera in your rooms?
This procedure is performed by the trained beauty therapists in our centres. This includes Natalia, Tara, and Beck.
Discover Ulthera Advantages!
An increasingly large amount of patients now opt for Ulthera procedures. This fits well into this program since by elevating the face it makes the appearance much lighter and less heavy.

How would a patient book-in for this treatment?
Recently Dr. Lanzer has opened a mini centre called Dlumière Esthétique which is aimed at improving skin texture and lightening the skin of the face and the weight of the body.
Can ulthera be combined with other procedures?
Yes, this works deep into the underlying tissue and therefore all surface treatments such as Energet, Viva, radiofrequency, fractionated lasers will work more on the surface and can each enhance each other’s results.
Is Ulthera painful?
Unfortunately sometimes this can be very painful and patients do require local anesthetic or even a puffer to reduce the pain. Interestingly, some people do not feel any pain.
Are there any other uses for ulthera?
In America, this is also being used for excessive sweating. In time, this will also become available. The ultrasound waves gets down to the sweat glands and causes some destruction of the unwanted glands.
What happens if a patient fails ulthera?
Unfortunately, there are no guarantees that Ulthera will work since it is a non-surgical treatment. If a patient fails Ulthera, then they will have to consider surgical options. Dr. Lanzer offers lifting of the skin with either skin suture lift or a mini surgical face lift.
All photographs represent one person’s experience, and results may vary for each patient. All photographs are of actual patients of Dr Lanzer. The visible change in these photographs has occurred as a result of the procedure/s undertaken. Best results are obtained when the procedure is combined with a balanced diet and exercise.
Some before and after photos shown are not exact, in that they vary in light, contrast, clothing, background, distance from camera, hairstyle and make-up.
We offer a FREE, No Obligation Cosmetic Surgery Consultation and a detailed explanation of the procedure.
Dr Lanzer can email all patients a detailed consent form which provides information related to the surgery. This information is made available to all patients before surgery, allowing enough time for the patient to ask any questions they may have.
