The breast reduction before and after photo was of a real patient of Dr Lanzer and shows the result of surgery. You can also view other breast reduction before and after photos above of other patients treated by Dr Lanzer.
Breast reduction surgery removes excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin in one go. This surgery aims to achieve a breast size in proportion with your body. The surgery may be performed to relieve the discomfort and pain associated with overly large breasts. This surgery is also called reduction mammoplasty.
Liposuction – Breast Reduction
Ultrasound is a wave length that has many uses in cosmetic surgery. Firstly we often arrange it as part of the preoperative work up for breast reduction via liposuction. Dr Lanzer likes to assess radiological how much fat is in the breast so he can predict volume reduction. Some breasts are very “fatty” ie most of the breast is made up of just fat and this means that a lot of fat can be removed and a major reduction in size and weight is possible. In such a situation going from an E size or DD to a C is realistic. Other women have more fibrous breast tissue. Typically young women in their teens who have never had children are more fibrous and glandular and less fatty. Most breasts are not exactly the same in size; in fact, most women have one breast which is slightly bigger than the other.
Dr Lanzer measures how much fat is taken from each breast and although he will try to create more evenness, more often than not if there is an asymmetry prior to surgery it will remain there post-surgery. Dr Lanzer sees fantastic results from breast liposuction Melbourne with the skin contraction and ultrasound can help with this as well. Ultrasound is also used as a device to melt fat. The Vaser is such a device used in Hi Definition Liposculpture as is the Ulthera used for face lifting in a non-surgical way. Ultrasound can also be used for deep bruising after liposuction Melbourne and is generally started a few weeks post procedure. It is often available at physiotherapists or Dr Lanzer’s staff will perform in the Medi-Day Spa.
Dr Lanzers Dermatology and Cosmetic Day Surgery Services is fully accredited with both the ISO 9001:2008 and the National Safety and Quality in Health Service Standards (NSQHS). The NSQHS require Dr Lanzers clinic to have 100% compliance to all 10 standards before accreditation will be granted.
The first area from this list of 10 standards is “Governance for Safety and Quality in Health Service Organisations”. This standard is set up to ensure that we at Dr Lanzers have and maintain; governance and quality improvement systems, clinical practice, performance and skills management, incident and complaints management and patient rights and engagement.
Dr Lanzer has a highly skilled Quality Manager who works closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure these areas are all up to date and maintained.
We have implemented new feedback forms recently which give us the opportunity to gain direct input from our patients and graph the data received to monitor our quality improvement and areas that we can improve on.
Each member of staff knows the process of raising an issue or idea for improvement and we welcome their feedback to ensure all of our staff are happy within their work environment. This is very important to Dr Lanzer, as happy staff reflect well on our patients.
At Dr Lanzers we have a Quality and Safety Information Report that can be filled in by any member of staff. This form is created to address issues in areas such as; patient concerns (fall, medication incident, complaint or suggestion), staff concerns (request, incident, manual handling incident or hazards), equipment concerns (equipment failure, due for servicing or new equipment needed), security concerns (assault/threatening behaviour, theft or trespass to report), emergency (fire, explosion or chemical spill to report) and quality (suggested improvement or new document required).
We aim to create the safest and most enjoyable experience for our patients and this standard of the NSQHS ensures that we are monitoring all areas to ensure this occurs.
Having breasts that are too heavy or big could cause some physical discomfort, so the breast reduction could be a viable procedure in these cases. However, many patients have different ideas about breast reduction and the changes that could be implemented with this procedure. To give patients a good insight in the treatment and the possibilities of the treatment, we have created an overview of before and after photographs taken from patients who had a breast reduction procedure. Naturally, there photographs are a guideline, since results obtained from this procedure are unique to the patient.
If you have concerns about the results of your future breast reduction procedure, it is essential to speak to your cosmetic surgeon before you have your breast reduction. The surgeon can provide you with more details regarding the results you could obtain, as well as more information about the procedure itself. During your consultation with your surgeon, you will also receive information about the aftercare, which is also important, since improper aftercare could have a negative influence on the results obtained from the procedure. If you have any questions left after a consultation, or realise you’ve forgotten to ask something important during your consultation, be sure to contact the Dr Lanzer Clinic for more info.
