Downsized Size F Breasts With Breast Reduction & Lift

Before Female Breast Reduction Before Photos (1)

This was one of our younger patients who presented with size F breasts. Breasts of this size can be very heavy for patients and have an impact on them both socially and physically. They often impact on a patient's ability to participate in sporting activities.

This is the patient just 2 months post a Breast Liposuction procedure. Notice how her breast has contracted into a very flattering shape, without obvious scarring or loose skin.

Case Study 1: Breast Reduction Surgery

Overly large breasts can cause some women both health and emotional issues. The physical discomfort and pain may include back, neck and shoulder pain, and skin irritation beneath the breast crease. Therefore, the weight of excess breast tissue can restrict a woman’s ability to lead a normal and active life. Some women also feel self-conscious about having overly heavy breasts.

How Much Fat Can Be Removed From The Breast During Cosmetic Surgery?

People are amazed as to how much fat Dr Lanzer can remove from breasts to cause a significant breast reduction. He has removed over 2 litres of fat from each breast in the past, but the average would be about 600-700ml of fat.

Fat is also removed from the side of the breast to give a better shape. Dr Lanzer will estimate the volume to remove based on your current size and how small you ideally want to be. There is no definite accuracy in breast reduction since bra sizes vary so much. What one person calls a C size another may say it is a DD. Universally, patients see a reduction in breast size and elevation of the breast.

How To Evaluate The Lift Of The Breast And The Position Of Nipple And Areola After Surgery?

One way to assess the elevation is to look for a spot or mole on the skin and compare the level of the breast both before and after the surgery.

What Is The Other Technique Used For Breast Reduction In Cosmetic Surgery?

The alternative to breast reduction is reduction mammoplasty. Dr Lanzer performs the “ideal Breast Lift “ method that he learnt in the USA; this is done by using a “staple first” technique whereby Dr Lanzer can safely assess how far up the breast can be lifted prior to removing any tissue and skin. There will be a scar that surrounds the nipple, which then goes vertically to the breast crease where it meets a horizontal line.

Please note that reduction mammoplasty means that the doctor removes excess breast tissue, fat and skin to alter  the size and shape of the breasts. Patients who are undergoing breast reduction with liposuction will have fat removed from the breast, which reduces the patient’s cup size.

How Much Difference Can I Expect After This Surgical Procedure?

The impact that breast reduction procedures have on women’s day to day lives is quite remarkable. Many women who come to see us complaining of constant back, shoulder and neck pain and have always thought there was only one option as far as breast reduction goes. Both options can be discussed with you on your consultation and we can advise you on what you would be best suited to, as far as expectations, results, budget and recovery time is considered.

A breast reduction could balance out the natural shape of the patient’s body, but it could also reduce some of the physical problems commonly associated with larger breasts; this includes back pain and other physical discomforts.

As seen in this case study, a breast reduction can make a considerable difference and does not necessarily mean you will be left with excess skin, so it could be an option for women who experience physical discomfort because of larger breasts.

There are several case studies on the Dr Lanzer website that display the results that could be obtained from a breast reduction procedure. When browsing through the before and after photographs, it also becomes clear that results obtained from a breast reduction procedure are different for every patient because every patient is unique. However, an experienced cosmetic surgery such as Dr Lanzer can give patients more insight into the results that they could obtain from a breast reduction procedure. So, if you are considering a breast reduction procedure and if the size of your breasts is causing you physical discomfort, please make an appointment at the Dr Lanzer Clinic to speak with Dr Daniel Lanzer about your specific problem.
