Female Breast Reduction Before And After Photos (11)

Before

Pre and post photos of a breast reduction from 11 years previously.

After

This lady underwent breast reduction 11 years ago for size F breasts which caused a lot of weight and pain. She is has remained a size C.

Other case studies

Eleven years later, she is having liposuction of other areas but has noted that the breast reduction to a size C has lasted for this period of time.  One can notice the amount of skin contraction and elevation just from the liposuction Melbourne alone; no skin was removed.  This was not a breast surgical lift.

HOW LONG DO PROCEDURE RESULTS LAST FOR?

Generally speaking, liposuction Melbourne lasts forever so long as the patient does not put on weight.  This applies to liposuction Melbourne of all different areas such as on the body and also with this breast procedure. By removing the fat cells, fat does not tend to come back.  If a patient puts on weight, it will tend to come in other areas.  Large breasts are not so much related to fat of the general body and therefore fat fluctuation does not always mean that breasts will become fatter or less with age or time.

WHAT PROCEDURES HAVE LONG TERM RESULTS FOLLOWING COSMETIC SURGERY?

Laser resurfacing of wrinkles tends to last for many years.  Once the new collagen is laid down so long as there is general sun protection, one can expect the results to last for many, many years.

Blepharoplasty with a laser, I found also lasts for a long time.  It is unusual to have to repeat this.

Face lift surgery notoriously can need to be repeated, particularly if one is suturing the muscles which can later stretch with facial movement.  The areas that have been sucked out such as through liposculpture of the neck or excision of the skin would tend to be long lasting.

IS THERE ANY PARTICULAR LONG-TERM RISK ASSOCIATED WITH BREAST REDUCTION?

There are no major risks associated with breast reduction.  There is a theoretical risk of affecting breast cancer monitoring with any breast cancer surgery as it may affect mammograms where the breast will appear more dense or areas of calcification.  Since starting this procedure in the year 2000 we have not seen any patient with any particular problem related to breast cancer monitoring.    We will always ask patients if they have a history of breast cancer.

WHY DO SOME PATIENTS WANT BREAST REDUCTION WHILE OTHERS WISH TO HAVE BREAST ENLARGEMENT?

This is an interesting question and it relates to how people perceive themselves and the type of breast enlargement that they have.  Many people who want this surgery  have it because of the pain associated with the weight of large breasts, particularly the shoulders and neck.  Breast enlargement is more an aesthetic desire to have fullness of the breasts to appear more feminine.

It is preferable to have this  breast procedure performed by a reputable specialist surgeon who is specially trained to perform this surgery and has a lot of experience in carrying out this type of surgery.
