What Is Involved in Fat Transfer (Before & After)
Many patients who visit the Dr Lanzer Clinic are considering a fat transfer, a procedure that can reshape and add volume to a certain part of the body. Before a prospective patient comes to our clinic, he or she can gain additional information by checking out the information we made available online.
The Dr Lanzer Clinic created numerous information pages, which patients can refer to for more info about the fat transfer. Below, patients can find some of this information. So, if you are thinking about booking an appointment at our clinic, be sure to read the information we made available.
Where Does the Fat Used During a Fat Transfer Come From?
To transfer a patient’s fat into a certain part of the body for rejuvenation, we simply require an area to harvest the fat from. The most common areas are the stomach and hips, whereby the fat is usually ampler and more stable. It is generally the area that patients wish to have reduced in size. In saying this, it is however possible to harvest fat from areas such as the inner and outer thighs, hips and arms. We do not transfer fat from breasts to other areas.
A normal liposuction procedure is conducted to harvest the fat. For this, we can either use our Adivive, which is a closed system whereby the area is filled with tumescent fluid, then sucked into a specific syringe, spun in a centrifuge to remove oils and fluid; this ensures they leave the concentrated fat cells. Once the fat is treated, it is reinjected in the treatment area.
Are There Other Unique Systems That Are Used for the Fat Transfer?
Dr Lanzer also likes to use the Cell Brush System, which allows him to deliver fat injections with precision to smaller areas such as the brow. Dr Lanzer has performed fat transfers on patients with scarring, indentations or skin irregularities as well.
The fantastic thing about using your own fat is that it feels natural and is a natural alternative to synthetic fillers. Whichever technique he decides is best for your particular case, you will always have the option of storing your fat for future reinjection. And if you decide to have it injected in to new areas as well, this is another possibility. We are able to store your fat at an initial processing fee, followed by a small annual fee for as long as you wish to have it stored. There are no obligations and you can decide to discard your frozen fat at any time.
To get the best treatment for your aesthetic goals, it is always advised to speak to Dr Lanzer. By having a consultation with Dr Lanzer, you can get more familiar with available treatments and get some recommended treatment routes at the same time.
