Liposuction is a surgical procedure that targets stubborn fat cells and fat deposits in the body. The cosmetic procedure involves fat removal, resulting in a slight reduction in body weight and body contouring of the treated area. However, liposuction is not a weight loss solution. It is aimed at patients who are on or around their target weight, but struggle losing persistent fats despite putting in a lot of hours in the gym and eating a healthy diet.
A liposuction procedure is executed to target specific areas of the body where pockets of fat have accumulated. Contrary to popular belief, this procedure is not necessarily executed in cases of obesity, as liposuction is a treatment that will tackle persistent excess fats that will not disappear with diet and exercise alone. Some areas of the body are more prone to persistent fats than others, so it is certainly not uncommon for cosmetic surgeries to execute this procedure on the same areas of patients. Common areas that are treated with traditional liposuction include the buttocks, hips, inner and outer thighs, and abdomen.
Most liposuction procedures are now executed as an outpatient surgery procedure; this means you do not have to stay overnight. However, in some major procedures, the patient could be required to stay overnight; this will be mentioned during a consultation with your surgeon.
During a liposuction procedure, the surgeon will make a small incision in the treatment area. Then, a small cannula (tube) is fed through the incision into the treatment area; this cannula is used to loosen up the fat and subsequently remove it by suction.
Please note that cosmetic surgeries can use special solutions during the procedure; these can be injected before the procedure takes place. Solutions – for example, tumescent solution – can be injected to break up the fat before removal. It is also used to reduce side effects such as bleeding.
The recovery process is usually subject to the area where you had liposuction and how much fat you had removed. However, we can provide patients with some general guidelines about their recovery before the procedure takes place.
Patients who have liposuction as an outpatient treatment should always ensure they have someone to drive them home on the day of the treatment. Even if you have liposuction under a local anaesthetic, patients can experience some discomfort after the procedure. Therefore, someone to drive you home is essential.
Shortly after the procedure, it is normal for patients to experience some side effects. Common side-effects that are experienced after liposuction include bruising, swelling, and general discomfort. To reduce some of the swellings and help the body conform to its new shape, the patient will be required to wear a compression garment during their recovery.
During the recovery process, patients will be advised not to do any strenuous exercise, as this could interfere with your liposuction recovery and overall results. Patients will also receive additional guidelines to follow during their recovery process. Naturally, it is important for patients to follow these guidelines as best as they can to enhance their recovery and results.
An increasingly large number of patients now opt for Liposuction Surgery. This procedure is perfect for those that do not require a large quantity of fat to be removed, but rather small amounts for natural-looking curves.

Benefits that can be obtained through liposuction are usually quite individual for each patient. Some patients obtain this procedure to obtain a more contoured and proportionate appearance. It could also be used to tackle some persistent fats a patient cannot get rid of through diet and exercise alone.
Liposuction is also a procedure that can be implemented for some medical conditions; this includes the treatment of lipomas, gynecomastia, and lipodystrophy syndrome. If you suffer from any of these conditions and believe liposuction could improve the problem, please book a consultation with Dr Lanzer.
There are many things that could influence the Gold Coast liposuction costs. Factors that could contribute to the overall cost of your treatment include the amount of fat to be removed, the number of treatment areas, the experience of the surgeon and the type of procedure. Common lipo procedures include the abdominoplasty, tummy tuck and breast augmentation.
At The Dr Lanzer Clinic, we can provide patients with an attractive quote for their procedure. As opposed to some other Australian surgeons, Dr Lanzer has his own Day Surgery Centre; this means patients do not have to pay high fees for a hospital stay. Dr Lanzer has also worked with the same anaesthetist for years; this can also influence the Gold Coast liposuction costs of a patient’s treatment in a positive manner. Costs will also depend on whether the patient goes under local or general anaesthesia.

Patients who have their procedure in the Gold Coast will find that their procedure cost can vary considerably compared to other patients. The cost of the procedure is determined by complexity, but also the techniques that will need to be used by the surgeon. Therefore, we always recommend that patients get their estimate directly from their chosen clinic.
Since different techniques can be used for stomach liposuction, as well as different procedure, you will find a variable cost for this procedure. To find out how much your abdominal liposuction will cost, please take advantage of the free and no-obligation appointment available at The Dr Lanzer Clinic.
The variable cost of liposuction applies to all areas in Australia. So, if you are a patient in Brisbane, The Dr Lanzer Clinic also recommends seeking an estimate directly from the clinic.
Most areas can be treated with liposuction these days. However, some areas are more common than others. Some of the most common areas include the abdomen, thighs, and neck.
