Case Study: Man Boobs Before and After Photographs
Man boobs are a serious issue for many men, so a lot of men are looking to resolve the problem with cosmetic surgery. At the Dr Lanzer Clinic, we provide such a procedure in the form of liposculpture on the male chest area; this enables the surgeon the reshape the chest.
Do you want to learn more about man boob surgery? Or do you have some questions you want answered before you book a consultation? If so, be sure to read the information provided by our team below.
Can Man Boob Surgery Be Combined with Other Procedures?
Many men have multiple areas of liposculpture at the same time. The patient in the above case study had liposculpture of his chest, stomach, flanks, and neck. Interestingly, he was not really that overweight, but fat was collecting in these areas that were of concern to him.
The most dramatic result that he obtained was on his chest. He had very large breasts, which resembled those of a female.
There was hard fibrous tissue under the nipple, which is called gynecomastia. Gynecomastia is made up of glands and fibrous tissue and causes a projection of the nipple. Sometimes it can be very small, just one or two cm. Other times, it can be very large, nearly the size of a tennis ball.
By performing the liposculpture initially, Dr Lanzer is able to free up the tissue, which is then removed through a small cut under the nipple. If you have a close look at the nipple, it would be hard to see the scar which is around the edge of the nipple. Some surgeons have an approach where they do a large inverted T; this produces a much a longer scar.
Will the Patient Be Left with Loose Skin?
Loose Skin is a common concern for patients who are considering liposuction surgery. These concerns have been addressed through the information below.
One of the other interesting things of the procedure is that one can see the tremendous skin contraction of the chest which has gone completely flat. There was no actual real excision of skin tissue, but the skin is tightened. The skin contracts in a 360-degree direction and therefore, even though this was a large bulge that was hanging and drooping, it has ended up as totally flat skin with no wrinkles.
Dr Lanzer has found that men and women get excellent skin contraction. Patient’s skin contraction can sometime improve with age and not necessarily get worse. The same change can also be seen on the neck, more specifically that the removal of fat from the neck has caused skin contraction and tightening. There is a much better angle particularly visible on the side. Drooping of the neck is quite an ageing feature to men and women. The results show a nice shape to the jawline.
