Larger Man Breast Before and After Photos
One of the most common concerns of patients when performing liposuction on a larger area is how much skin retraction they will see post surgery. The answer is that we generally see a remarkable amount of skin retraction post operatively. The above patient was fairly young and therefore the likelihood of the skin retracting so well is increased. As we age we have less collagen and elastin in our skin. The process of performing liposuction in areas actually stimulates a response whereby collagen and elastin are brought to the area and contract the skin. Male chests have a high success rate in retracting back up and not being too much loose skin present.
Of course, a lot is dependent on age, as previously mentioned, as well as how much volume is being removed. The initial swelling actually helps, because as the swelling goes down, the skin has more time to retract slowly with it. You may find some slight asymmetry, as most people do not have identical size chests. Generally if one side is a bit bigger or slight different shape, it will often remain this way post surgery. A healthy diet and regular exercise will help you to maintain the best results.
Our qualified dietitian can recommend a suitable diet and supplements which will best support your recovery. Patients should not exercise for 2 weeks post surgery. One week post surgery the stitches in the nipples will be removed and they usually take an extra couple of days to fully heal over. After that, patients can return to their usual routine, provided it is not causing too much discomfort. We usually provide patients with a script for Panadiene Forte post procedure and then they can continue on with normal Panadol if required.
Man boobs can be caused by two factors. One is obesity, the other a medical condition called gynaecomastia. In the first case, patients can get rid of their man boobs by exercising and enjoying a healthy diet. However, the second case could require a surgical operation. Since man boobs can be caused by different factors, it is recommended to have yourself checked out by an experienced cosmetic surgeon before you decide to look at surgical options. So, if you believe you have gynaecomastia, it is advised to make an appointment at the Dr Lanzer Clinic.
At the Dr Lanzer Clinic, Dr Daniel Lanzer can evaluate the problem and determine if you are a good candidate for man boob surgery. If you are deemed eligible, the procedure can be executed by Dr Lanzer at our clinic. Of course, the surgery may solve the problem, but the patient will have to enjoy a healthy lifestyle after the procedure. During man boobs surgery, the surgeon will remove excess fat tissue and breast tissue, but weight fluctuations could cause the problem to return. Therefore, make sure you follow the advice of your surgeon after surgery to ensure your results are more long term.
