Yes. Liposculpture is a form of liposuction, which involves shaping and contouring while removing the unwanted excess fat. This is usually done through very small incisions in concealed areas. Liposculpture can improve the “double-chin” around the face and neck by targeting the neck fat, wrinkles and loose skin. Neck Liposculpture can leave you with a sculptured, contoured neckline and neck lift. The procedure may also be referred to as chin liposuction.
The neck does contain veins, which means cosmetic surgeries must take special care during the execution of neck liposuction. To avoid veins, the cosmetic surgery will make incisions in tactical locations; this allows the surgeon to access the treatment area without hitting important veins.
Neck liposuction is one of the most common fat removal procedures. Both women and some men notice that as they age there is an accumulation of fat under the chin. This is often referred to as the “turkey neck”. There is no reason as to why this occurs but many patients do notice that it runs in families.
To remove the excess fat from the neck, cosmetic surgery can execute liposuction on the neck area. Of course, the patient must be evaluated by cosmetic surgery before the treatment can take place.
Neck liposuction could be obtained for facial rejuvenation, but it could also be the solution for patients who have an ill-defined neck, because of persistent fat deposits surrounding the neck. Before you can benefit from this procedure, our experienced surgeon will evaluate your general health and the desired results. If the patient has a realistic view of the treatment, and if neck liposuction could provide the improvements the patient in question wants to see, they will be deemed eligible for this procedure. Naturally, there are certain medical criteria the patient must meet as well, which will be explained further by the cosmetic surgery during a consultation.
We offer a FREE, no-obligation Cosmetic Surgery Consultation and a detailed explanation of the procedure. Dr Lanzer can email all patients with a detailed consent form that provides information related to the surgery. This information is made available to all patients before surgery, allowing enough time for the patient to ask any questions they may have.
Firstly, Dr Lanzer will inject a tumescent liquid into the fatty tissue, to make it easier to remove. To remove the unwanted fat, the cosmetic surgeon makes a small incision approx. 2-3mm wide and inserts a liposuction cannula to suction out the fatty deposits. The procedure takes between 30 minutes to an hour and the patient has the option of light sedation (general anaesthesia) or staying awake (local anaesthetic). For more information, please refer to the liposuction page on this website.
Most patients can be back to work and normal activities soon after their procedure, but this is not a guarantee. Each patient has a different recovery time, so we always advise taking plenty of time to heal.
Dr Lanzer will instruct you to wear a neck garment to retract the skin area and you will have slight post-operative bruising after the treatment. Additional side-effects you could experience after your liposuction will be discussed before the procedure takes place.
An increasingly large number of patients now opt for Neck Liposuction procedures. Dr Lanzer often performs this procedure in conjunction with other procedures such as Face Makeover or Liposuction on other areas of the body.Request consultation
• Produces sharp angle to the neck and jawline;
• No cutting or lifting of skin yet a significant retraction of skin;
• Long-lasting results;
• Great for both men and women.
• The procedure will also tighten the neck skin
One of the most amazing aspects of neck liposuction is that very heavy and sagging necks can get a significant improvement without the need for surgical cutting. By removing all the fat under the skin in the neck we can get the skin to retract and tighten. In fact, excess skin is now needed to line the under-surface of the jawline. All ages can benefit from this approach, but generally, the skin in females tends to contract a little better. This procedure is done on both men and women of all ages, resulting in a refined jawline and a more youthful/slimmer appearance.
The cost of neck liposuction is variable since surgeons need to consider the complexity of the procedure and the amount of fat that needs to be removed. Therefore, patients can only get an accurate estimate for their neck liposuction by requesting an estimate from their clinic. In some cases, an estimate for the procedure can be provided by email, but the patient will be required to submit photographs of the problem area before an estimate can be given.

Liposculpture helps remove troubled areas such as loose, sagging skin and excess fat from the neck. If you can hold fat then it can be removed.
Dr Lanzer believes that it is one of the most important procedures to make one look younger. A tight neckline portrays youthfulness when compared to a sagging neck.
Dr Lanzer’s personal experience is that liposculpture of the neck produces a long-lasting result. He rarely needs to repeat it.
Dr Lanzer may perform a min facelift so the face is lifted with the neck. It also works well with laser resurfacing of wrinkles. When Dr Lanzer performs his full body liposuction, the neck is often included.
Most patients wear it for 2 – 3 days.
Scarring does not usually occur other than the two tiny incision marks under the jaw.
Wearing a neck garment that Dr Lanzer will arrange for 2-3 days after the treatment.
There is usually a bit of weeping of fluid from the nicks as with all forms of liposuction. The area may be slightly bruised or swollen. Everyone has some numbness and swelling that may feel hard, this generally resolves in time.
Dr Lanzer has been performing liposuction of the neck and jowls for nearly 20 years. He has not witnessed this as a complication.

Neck liposuction often lasts forever due to the permanent removal of fat cells and skin tightening which is part of the normal healing.
Prices start at $2995 for neck liposuction plus associated fees such as hospital fees.
Often it is important to do liposuction of the jowls at the same time as the neck site the lower face and the neck from one cosmetic unit. The goal of liposculpture in the area is to have a sharp definition between the jawline and the neck.
Yes, fat in the back of the neck is often called the buffalo hump and can be removed with liposuction.
