As well as Dr Lanzer being able to draw on photographs of patients to give a representation of what they can expect post procedure, he also takes a number of photographs before and after your procedure. On the day of your procedure Dr Lanzer will take a number of photos of you as you are naturally. He will then mark the areas he will perform the procedure on. For example, if he was to do a full body liposuction procedure, he would use a surgical skin marker to map out the areas he will sculpt, including indications of areas which he will go deeper or areas where he will only do slightly. Your body actually becomes a piece of artwork! Dr Lanzer then takes several photos of you once he has finished marking your body.
These photos are then immediately uploaded to your personal medical record file. Upon each follow up appointment, a number of photos will be taken and put on to your file. These are used to give a comparison of before and after and are a fantastic way for patients to see just how far they have come. We are also able to place these photographs side by side and print them for you to keep and see the exact changes which have taken place. It is so fascinating how the mind becomes used to seeing what is in front of it and how quickly we can forget how we looked just weeks before.
We have created a list of patients who are happy to have their photos used in advertising and our magazine. Patients are always asked prior to this and are required to sign an advertising consent form. It’s surprising just how many are willing to have their bodies shown. Many of whom would have said no prior to the procedure but who are then just so happy with their result they are excited to share it with others who are also looking in to having the same procedure.
A tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that could help to remove excess skin after significant weight loss, but could also target any remaining persistent fat deposits at the same time. Therefore, the changes that could happen with such a procedure can be quite dramatic, which is why it is advised to look at our overview of before and after pictures of tummy tucks, where you can get more insight into the possible results of the procedure. Of course, the results of each tummy tuck procedure vary from patient to patient, so these photographs should only be a guideline and not a definite result.
To increase the chance of getting the desired results from your tummy tuck procedure, it is recommended to speak with your cosmetic surgeon directly and convey the aesthetic changes you wish to see. Based on your requirements, the cosmetic surgeon will lay out your options and determine if your expected results are a realistic view of results that could be obtained through the procedure. Communication is key here, so make sure you are fully comfortable with your surgeon and your cosmetic surgery facility before you sign off on the procedure.
