Case Study: Liposuction Before & After Photos
Dr Daniel Lanzer is a well-known cosmetic surgeon who is often on national television explaining the latest breakthroughs in cosmetic surgery and cosmetic treatment. Dr Lanzer was featured on the Today Tonightprogram explaining the new Hi Definition liposculpture method that can produce a 6 pack.
To ensure patients are fully informed about the latest treatments, Dr Lanzer makes numerous case studies available on his clinic’s website; this is also the case for liposuction. If you wish to learn more, please check out our case studies and read the information provided by the Dr Lanzer Clinic below.
What Are Some of the Latest Liposuction Concepts in Australia?
An entirely new concept has come to Australia, involving of sculpting around the stomach muscles to produce the “six-pack look” in men and the athletic grooves in women. The procedure has become extremely popular both in people who work out in the gym and those who never do.
Has Liposuction Evolved Much Over the Years?
Liposuction has become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the world. It is therefore no surprise that the procedure has evolved over the course of time. New techniques have been introduced over the years, which had a serious impact on how liposuction is executed in current cosmetic surgery clinics.
Dr Daniel Lanzer said the most significant breakthrough was probably the introduction of the wet tumescent method by a dermatologist about 20 years ago. Dr Lanzer helped convene a conference to teach that method in 1992 and it can be used to remove fat with either the patient being awake or asleep.
The wet tumescent method uses fluid, placed in the fat, which helps soften the fat and essentially stops bleeding. The body can be sculptured, which means the technique is ideal for small bulges often seen on the hips and outer thighs of women, as well as the stomachs and flanks of men.
Dr Lanzer said the next advance was the recognition that many different areas are responsive to liposuction. What started for “saddle bag” removal could be used in any fatty area.
As the procedure became more common, dermatologists developed the concept of body liposculpture – or reshaping many areas in one sitting. This would often include the back, hips, thighs, buttocks, stomach, knees, arms and ankles. Ideally, this is done with the patient under a light general anaesthesia.
Can Overweight Patients Obtain Liposuction?
Many overweight people are looking for a kick start as they battle weight reduction. Dr Lanzer said a rapid loss of 5-10 litres in one or two procedures could dramatically change in the body shape with some patients even enjoying looking at the fat removed. Most patients can return to work a couple of weeks after the procedure.
Please note that liposuction in overweight people is not a weight loss solution! As stated earlier, it gives patients a kick-start for their new healthy lifestyle. Therefore, it is down to the patient to maintain their new lifestyle after having a liposuction procedure.
When Is a Breast Reduction Through Liposuction Used?
Dr Lanzer helped pioneer the breast reduction through liposuction method about 10 years ago. Women often complain of neck and back pain from the weight of large breasts. Dr Lanzer said after using keyhole type surgery the breasts become lighter and smaller and also contract and elevate. It is a procedure for all ages.
Why Are More Men Having Liposuction These Days?
Men finally joined the liposuction interest when they realised they could lose their “man boobs”. Men also want the so-called “love handles” removed and stomachs.
What Is Vaser?
The new Vaser, a third generation ultrasound device, helps skin contraction and tightening. It is also ideal for patients having a second procedure.
Are the Case Studies Above a Genuine Representation of Liposuction?
By looking at our before and after photographs, taken of patients who had their liposuction procedure at the Dr Lanzer Clinic, you can get a better idea about the type of aesthetic problem a liposuction procedure is used for. As indicated in the photographs, a liposuction procedure is not meant as a weight loss solution, but as a treatment to reshape the body and give the patient a more aesthetically pleasing shape.
To maintain the results obtained from a liposuction procedure, the patient must be willing to maintain a healthy lifestyle as well. This means that the patient must enjoy a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. The patient must also keep his or her weight stable after liposuction surgery because weight fluctuations could cause persistent fats to return to the body of the patient. If you have any questions about preventing the return of persistent fats after your procedure, please contact the Dr Lanzer Clinic for advice. You can also turn to your local doctor for advice on a healthy lifestyle before and after your procedure, because someone monitoring your progress makes it less likely for you to return to old habits.
