Learn More About Dr Lanzer’s Liposuction Method
Dr Lanzer uses the tumescent liposuction method for many treatments at his clinic. However, not all patients are familiar with this procedure yet. To ensure patients are fully informed about the tumescent liposuction, we have created an overview with information on this procedure. So, if you are considering liposuction at the Dr Lanzer Clinic, please read the information provided by our team below.
What Technique Does Dr Lanzer Use for Liposuction Treatments?
The method that Dr Lanzer uses is a combination of tumescent liposuction with superficial liposculpture. The treatment may also include the use of devices such as MicroAire and Vaser.
Dr Lanzer explains that the success in skin contraction after the treatment is based on his technique on the fat is suctioned and from what levels he removes the fat. He will treat every patient differently, depending on the individual situation. A tummy tuck is sometimes required but has the downside of a long scar across the lower abdomen and much longer recovery.
The tumescent liposculpture has the advantage of it being key-holed through small nicks in the skin. Patients will go through a period of deep bruising, where the skin feels a bit hard. However. massage or VelaShape will improve the texture and give a good result.
What Is the Goal of Liposculpture?
Generally, the goal of liposculpture is to have a flatter stomach, so that patients of can look and feel better in the clothes they love to wear. Once the fat is removed, then they are happier in clothes. The other bonus is an improvement in skin, since the skin often becomes smoother and tighter after this type of treatment.
What Is the Age Limit for Liposculpture?
The patient in this case study demonstrates that patients in their 60’s, 70’s, and sometimes 80’s can acquire liposculpture. Age is not a limitation with the new techniques, since it is less invasive.
We must mention that the treatment can be adjusted somewhat according to age. Dr Lanzer will not do a full body liposculpture in a patient in their 80’s. Someone in their 60’s could just about have most areas treated. Occasionally a patient in their 80’s will have an ECG just to check their heart function before a procedure can take place.
What Age Does a Patient Need to Be for a Liposculpture?
Dr Lanzer can perform liposculpture in teenagers, but he usually waits until they are over 18 unless there is some severe genetic abnormality. For patients under the age of 18, the consent of the parents is required. A consultation with a child psychologist will be necessary before the procedure can take place as well.
