Eyelid Rejuvenation for Men
Eyelid rejuvenation is a treatment that is executed on both men and women at the Dr Lanzer Clinic. Since the condition of the skin around the eyes can determine how old you look, eyelid rejuvenation could reduce the apparent age of patients considerably.
Curious how eyelid rejuvenation is used to take a couple of years of a patient’s age? Or do you wonder if eyelid rejuvenation could be a solution for certain vision problems? Find out by reading the information provided by the Dr Lanzer Clinic below.
Why Is Eyelid Rejuvenation Used for “Tired Eyes”?
Tired eyes are quite common, since signs of ageing around the eyes can give the patient an overall tired appearance. When a patient has a visible upper eyelid, but has dark circles underneath the eyes due to its concave shape, the patient may be a good candidate for eyelid rejuvenation with CO2 laser.
During eyelid rejuvenation for tired eyes, excess skin from the upper eyelid can be removed; this if the upper eyelids have a somewhat drooping appearance. Fat bags from the lower lid can be removed as well, while the surrounding skin is treated with the carbon dioxide laser.
Treatment with the carbon dioxide laser has some benefits compared to other treatments. Carbon dioxide lasers are quite precise, and they seal the blood vessels during the procedure. Therefore, the carbon dioxide laser is a common choice by cosmetic surgeons during eyelid rejuvenation.
What Treatment Is Suitable for Old-Looking Skin?
The natural ageing process as well as sun damage can cause older looking skin. Because of this damage and the ageing process, the skin starts to become mottled, accumulate more pigmentation, and develop more wrinkles.
One of the treatments that is recommended for older looking skin is a contour erbium laser treatment. However, since the contour erbium laser completely removes the outer layer of damaged skin, there is some downtime associated with the treatment.
For patients who cannot incorporate much downtime in their busy schedule, we recommend some gentler lasers available at the Dr Lanzer Clinic; this includes Fraxel and Revlite. These lasers can improve the skin texture, which makes them a suitable option for older looking skin.
In addition to the options already mentioned, there are more treatments that could be used to rejuvenate the skin; this includes the Portraite and the medical Microdermabrasion. To determine if these treatments are the right option for you, please book an appointment at the Dr Lanzer Clinic.
Can Eyelid Rejuvenation Aid Vision?
Even though rare, the heaviness of the upper eyelid and fat increase in the lower eyelid could start to obstruct a patient’s field of vision. Through eyelid rejuvenation, fat can be removed from the lower eyelid, and the heaviness of the upper eyelid reduced. Subsequently, the field of vision of the patient can be restored.
