Male Eye Rejuvenation:
HOW OFTEN DO MEN HAVE BLEPHAROPLASTY?
Men commonly have blepharoplasty in the middle age and older age. In older age it is because of the loss of vision to the skin that sags over the eyelids. In the middle age it is usually related to wanting to look younger and healthier.
WILL MALE BLEPHAROPLASTY MAKE ONE LOOK STARTLED OR DIFFERENT?
Generally speaking this is not the result. Startled appearance often happens with a brow lift because the eyebrows are setting a high appearance. Mostly patients look younger and healthier.
DOES ONE ALWAYS PERFORM THE BLEPHAROPLASTY ON BOTH SIDES?
Usually there is equal aging on both sides but occasionally the 2 eyes are different. The classic thing we find with cosmetic surgery is that the 2 sides are always a little bit different. This is referred to as the 2 sides being brothers or sisters but not twins.
WHAT ELSE MAKES A MAN LOOK AGED AROUND HIS EYES?
Often there is wrinkling around the eyes which can be treated with muscle relaxants. Men also age in the lower part of the face where there is sagging which may require either a liposculpture of the neck or a mini facelift.
DOES SUN EXPOSURE CONTRIBUTE TO AGING OF THE EYES?
The only way that sun exposure plays a role is by causing wrinkling and sun damage of the skin of the lower eyelid. Mostly aging of the eyes is related to both facial movement such as squinting and smiling and genetic factors.
The co2 laser helps remove heavy skin from the upper lid and the lower lid bulges of fat that cause “tired” shadows beneath the eye. There are no stitches and no visible skin marks and the result is a more rejuvenated eyelid.

Long Term Face Fillers:
Many women have fillers for lip and cheek enhancement to replace the loss of volume that occurs with aging. A new more long term filler was introduced in Australia a few years ago and has recently undergone further successful testing in the US. Dr Lanzer, who first highlighted this filler on national television, explained that one injection can last for many years. Patients commonly have it in their lips, in the fold between the lips and cheeks and in the cheeks itself.
THE RIGHT CHOICE
Dr Daniel Lanzer advises anyone considering cosmetic surgery should choose their surgeon carefully. Things to consider include:
A SPECIALIST, such as a dermatologist, has had rigorous training and examination in skin care and procedures.
ALWAYS ask the surgeon about his experience. Ask questions such as how many procedures has he done of that particular surgery.
REPUTATION spreads easily and often gives a good indication about the surgeon.
THE personality of the surgeon is as important as his skill. He must care, understand your particular concerns and be there for you after the operation.
WRITTEN literature from the surgeon is very important and should be informative.
DOES the surgeon operate in a state-of-the-art surgery and use the latest methods and equipment?

The cost to remove wrinkles can vary as there are so many approaches to wrinkle removal. Wrinkle removal may just involve injecting a filler under the wrinkles which is usually in the range of $500. It may involve injecting a muscle relaxant which could often be between $200 and $350, or involve using lasers. Laser resurfacing of the full face generally is priced between $4,000 and $5,000. On top of the costs of the laser, there will be additional costs related to theatre and an anesthetist. Generally speaking, laser cost is a pre-operative one-off payment. All post-operative care is included. It is very difficult to give an exact price on the cost of wrinkles as often procedures are combined. When combining procedures, the actual cost does come down, as Dr. Lanzer will often give a package. Lasers are very expensive and different laser machines can each cost over $150,000. Generally speaking, Dr. Lanzer does not charge any extra for using the laser as it is the most effective and precise way to remove wrinkles that he has found over the last 25 years. It is difficult to give patients an exact price of cost over the phone. Therefore, Dr. Lanzer offers a free no-obligation consultation about the outcome of the procedures and the exact costs that will be involved. There is always another cost factor involved with cosmetic surgery and that is the time off of work. Laser resurfacing does remove the outer layers. The patients therefore need at least 7 days off work. This is a cost that patients would have to take into account when considering any form of cosmetic surgery.
